How a Pick Up Tool Can Help Those with Limited Mobility

handicap pick up tools

A pick up tool works like an extension of the arm by allowing individuals to reach things they might not normally be able to reach. With a squeeze of the “trigger,” individuals can grab onto things as large as a bottle of soda or as small as a toothpick. The pick up tool (commonly used for volunteer litter clean up crews) can retrieve things from high places or from the ground and make doing household chores and duties much easier for those with limited mobility.

In the Kitchen

The reach tool can be extremely beneficial in the kitchen, because individuals can use it to retrieve things from top shelves without having to use a ladder or step stool. Not only does it increase safety, but it prevents individuals from having to rely on others to get a glass or dish from the top shelf. With the pick up tool, those with limited mobility can obtain ingredients, dishes, and other items from top shelves, as long as they can squeeze the trigger on the reach tool.

In the Garden or Yard

Gardening or outdoor time shouldn’t be limited for those who have limited mobility simply because they can’t do all the things they once could. The pick up tool can help them take down and replace bird feeders and hanging garden ornaments, and it can even let them pick up garbage from the ground in their yard. Because the reach tool is so precise, individuals can pick flowers with it! It can make gardening fun again for those who are confined to a wheel chair, or those who can’t bend or climb anymore.

At the Store

Pick up tools can even be useful on the go. Individuals with limited mobility or those confined to a wheel chair or power scooter can use the reach tool even during their grocery shopping. With the pick up tool, they can get items from higher shelves that they might not normally be able to reach, all without having to ask for assistance. It is even possible to use it to place smaller items on the conveyor belt at the checkout line. It’s a great benefit for those who don’t like to ask for help but usually must.

Other Benefits of a Pick Up Tool

There are other ways in which a reach tool can be beneficial for individuals with limited mobility. It can be used at the office to reach things that are otherwise inaccessible, and it can be used in volunteering situations to help reach items or pick up items that the individual otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach. The largest benefit of the pick up tool is the independence it returns to individuals that have limited mobility. With its use, they don’t have to rely on others to perform tasks that they couldn’t otherwise do themselves.

Tsunami Debris Pickup Tool

The giant earthquake in Japan in March 2011 had a devastating effect upon that country. Tens of thousands of people were killed and hundreds of thousands of people lost their homes, cities and businesses. Millions of tons of debris were swept out into the ocean and succumbed to the currents and flow of the water. While much of this material sunk to the bottom of the ocean, a giant mass of bottles, plastic, wood and a host of other things have been slowly making its way to the shores of the United States.

Many people predicted that a lot of this debris from the tsunami would eventually make it to the shores of Washington, Oregon and Northern California, but it has arrived far sooner than expected. Everyday more and more material covers the shores and effects not only the beauty of the natural surroundings, but also the habitat of the wildlife. Many of these objects are very colorful and attractive to a variety of animals, but none of it can be digested and it has caused the death of thousands of animals, both sea based, land-based and especially birds.

Everyday, volunteers go out, comb the shores, and pick up the debris to clean up the environment and protect these animals. The sizes of many these objects are greatly varied with some being as small as a coin, and others being as large as a barge (sorry for the pun, but it’s true).

Various items from the massive tsunami that killed around 19,000 people have begun washing up on the U.S. and Canadian west coast, and experts predict a surge of flotsam in the coming months. (Photo: AFP)

It includes such unlikely things as motorcycles, cars, boats, ropes, cables, oil drums, and yes sadly, even human bones. It has now greatly contributed to what has now been labeled the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and is estimated to be over one half million tons in weight. It’s also larger than the state of Texas!

Many people want to help with the cause and clean things up. They show up with their friends and start collecting debris and put it in trash bags, and come back again the next day and have to do it all over again. Its hard work cleaning all of this up and its possibly going to last for years to come. What is truly needed is a tsunami debris pickup tool to help people from having to constantly bend over to pick up this trash, especially the things you don’t want to touch.

Grapplers Inc. produces the perfect tsunami debris pickup tool with The Grappler product. It comes in a variety of lengths from 24 inches long clear up to 96 inches long with the most popular size being the 33-inch long version. This combined with “The Handler” which is a handle that attaches to a 5 gallon bucket, make the perfect combination of tools to pick up this unwanted debris left over from the tsunami.

With The Grappler, you don’t have to constantly bend over and pick up all of these little items. You don’t have to risk getting cut or an infection. It’s sturdy, strong, rust-free construction makes it the perfect device for being able to reach down and pick up an enormous variety of junk. Its ultra-strong construction also makes it ideal for picking up somewhat heavy objects. No other competitor product can pick up such a variety of items. No other competitor product can endure similar abuse or conditions. No other competitor can guarantee their product like The Grappler.

The perfect tsunami debris pickup tool is The Grappler from Grapplers Inc. and is available for immediate purchase and delivery right here.

Are You a Pet Owner? Then You Need a Grappler

Pets are lovable, loyal, and a lot of fun, but they can also be a lot of work. Pet owners can benefit from owning a Grappler in many different ways. A flexible grabber tool makes it easier to care for your pet, letting you handle the things you have to do so you can move on to the fun things you want to do. By understanding the benefits of owning a Grappler, you can decide whether it will make life with your pet easier or not.

Cleaning Up Messes

One of the best benefits of owning a Grappler is that you can clean up messes. A great example of this is if your pet decides to rip something up and spread it across the yard or house. The Grappler allows you to clean up the mess without having to bend over. In addition, it allows you to pick up dead animals and the like from around your yard. Sometimes your pet may play the role of hunter and having a grappler allows you to safely and sanitarily clean up the mess. The Grappler is not recommend for cleaning up your animals “business,” because it may cause more of a mess. With that said, the Grappler should be your go to when faced with the challenge of picking up something that you do not want to touch. Just remember that if the item is squishy or can collapse when grasped it should probably not be picked up using a grabber tool.

Playing Fetch

Dogs love to play fetch, but owners don’t love handling balls and other toys that have been thoroughly coated in drool. For this, a Grappler is very useful, as you can grip the ball or other item and toss it without having to touch it with your hands. This means you can keep playing fetch and making your pooch happy and you don’t even have to touch the item you’re tossing. If you just happen to accidentally toss the item into the shrubs or trees, you can retrieve it easily as well. Having a Grappler when you own a pet is always a win.

Unique Uses for the Grappler

Grapplers are also very helpful for unique animals, such as snakes. With the flexible rubber grips, you can lift a snake without injuring it, and also keep your hands and fingers clear of those dangerous fangs. The Grappler can be used to retrieve items from cages, especially tall or awkward cages that are difficult to reach into. Another great use for the flexible grabber tool is retrieving pet toys from hard-to-reach locations, such as under sofas, beds, or other furniture. Ferret owners can easily identify with the need for this, and many other animals hide or lose their toys as well.

A flexible grabber tool is a wonderful sidekick to have when you’re a loving pet owner.

Trash Pickup Tool Makes Pool and Backyard Cleanup Easier

Most homeowners want their yards to look manicured as well as neat and tidy. This usually means continuous pickup and a lot of work. A trash pickup tool can make that work a lot easier, especially in the backyard and around the pool. A trash pickup tool is an extended reach tool that allows individuals to pick up things out of their reach, or to pick things up from the ground without constantly having to bend over. It’s a handy tool and a great investment; something everyone should have in their storage closet or outdoor shed.

Cleaning Up the Pool with a Trash Pickup Tool

A trash pickup tool is a great way to pick up debris from the pool, from leaves and pine needles to discarded toys. You can easily reach these items in the pool without having to get in, and the grabber tool provides more control for cleaning than a typical pool net. It’s also a great way to grab toys or items on the bottom of the pool without having to go under the water. A trash pickup tool is a great way to grab things when you’re already inside the pool as well, whether it’s a cold drink, sunscreen, or goggles for your little one.

Cleaning Up the Pool Area

While it works great for cleaning the actual pool, a trash pickup tool is also a great way to keep the area around the pool clean. A well-used pool area often needs regular cleaning in order to look great. Whether you’re picking up soda cans, litter or other debris, the trash pickup tool makes it easy and minimizes bending. This saves you from the back pain and strain that often happens with this type of labor. It’s also a great way to weed floral areas around the pool without having to bend down or get on your knees. So, having a trash pickup tool is a great way to keep the decorative areas around the pool immaculate.

Other Backyard Uses for the Trash Pickup Tool

In addition to the pool and pool area, owners of a pickup tool can use it for various things in the backyard. From hanging decorations without having to pull out the ladder to picking up debris in the yard, this type of grabber tool is invaluable. Homeowners can use the extended reach tool to retrieve and hang bird feeders, remove trash from shrubs and trees, hang lights and other holiday décor, and much more. This kind of tool prevents individuals from having to use ladders, which helps prevent accidents as well.

If you have a pool, it’s a great idea for you to utilize a trash pickup tool. Having one handy both inside and outside the house can help make large jobs a lot easier.
